National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ)

NMIJ is the national metrology institute in Japan and was established in 2001 as a part of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Since then, NMIJ has been engaging in ensuring the international equivalence in the measurement standards and establishing their traceability for over 10 years. During this period, with cooperation and support of related organizations and users of measurement standards, NMIJ could accomplish the intellectual infrastructure development plan with the aim to provide measurement standards comparable to the ones in the West ahead of schedule.
